Quite the nicest UK hotel we have stayed in for ages. All the staff were absolutely charming, friendly and helpful. The room was brilliant and so lovely to have such space with a proper seating area with a sofa. The bathroom was brilliant with the best lighting ever and the towels big and fluffy. The staff seemed to be like part of a family rather than just employees. Will go out of our way to return there.

We only had a short weekend stay, to attend an event at Leigh, so, apart from the Abbey, we did not have time to explore Sherborne, but we loved the friendly atmosphere and the beauty of the place, the local oolite very lovely.

This hotel was very tired and could go with a luck of paint… the bathroom was grubby.. toilet seat had black marks where it had had the enamel scratched off the shower glass had mould at the bottom of it and the shower may was grubby underneath… also the entire room was lacking in any light.. the fans from the kitchen were a constant hum and the bed linen wasn’t big enough for the two single beds they’d put together .. we booked for 2 nights but left after one… the staff were great and food was ok but accommodation was shocking… also accommodation want even in the pub but around the corner I would like someone from customer services to contact me direct about the entire experience please

Beautiful town with lots of historical attractions to fill up a long weekend. Sherborne old and new castled & gardens with the Abbey and a good shopping street. Lots of good pubs and restaurants and cafes . Everything within 20 -30 minutes walk. Very clean & tidy
The location fantastic; the staff friendly and helpful; the room superb in furnishings and spotlessly clean; the decor in the room and around the hotel was fabulous; the food was absolutely delicious; the peace and quiet was blissful; it was simply a wonderful stay in an excellent hotel and we can't wait to go back...what a find, delighted! It might be a 3* in facilities (even though it had everything we wanted/needed) but it is unquestionably a 4* in quality and service standards.
They left a delicious loaf of sourdough from a local baker, fantastic local milk & butter, and on top of that a fresh baked pound cake on the counter. The hospitality was excellent. The bathroom and bedrooms were immaculate. It has just the perfect size common room & kitchen for vacation. The location is the best you'll find in Sherborne period. I loved my stay and I hope that when I'm drawn back to the city that the Yardhouse is available then.

Location in the centre of Sherborne was very good offering easy access to the town centre. Nearby car parking was fairly convenient and inexpensive. Owners provision of bread, butter , milk, cereal etc was thoughtful but we did not use some of it. TV worked well. Bedding was clean and good quality.
Unbelievable food, very hospitable staff, lovely location. We didn't get the best weather for walking but did go into Sherborne for the Saturday market which is beautiful and visited Haynes Motor Museum on the way home on Sunday which was a brilliant morning out.
Very clean and well maintained with everything you need for your stay. Excellent location for looking around Sherborne and to access places to eat, the high st as well as the Abbey and museum. Everyone was very friendly and conscientious looking after the town.
It was quirky and very old. Our room was very comfortable with plenty of facilities, including hair dryer and ironing board. The property was very well located opposite Sherborne Abbey and right in the centre of town. Free parking nearby was provided.
Susie and her Claire Cottage were fantastic! Beautiful historic home that was within walking distance of all of Sherborne's best attractions, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Breakfast was scrumptious. A day trip to Lulworth Cove is highly recommended.
A cleverly appointed studio minutes from Sherborne station. Has everything a couple or small family would need for a short stay. Very clean and comfortable. All the little touches like the wireless phone charger were much appreciated.
Beautiful location and friendly staff and owner. Dinner was nice, but Wish we could have given more of a positive feedback. We stay at a lot of rural hotels. Beautiful local walks which we did try after dinner in the evening.
Excellent breakfast. Location perfect (as we were attending a concert in Sherborne Abbey). Our hostess had lots of information about the local area and we were guided by her on the choice of walks.
Spacious bedroom & bathroom, garden access and warm welcome from the host. Semi rural location with easy access to major road routes & short distance from Sherborne. Good overnight stay.
The location was very good.
Right in the middle of a friendly village with a pub and shop.
Really handy to Sherborne - a great town with interesting market and lots of bespoke shops.
Our stay at the Cross Keys Sherborne was wonderful! The room was very comfortable and clean, breakfast was great, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Thank you!
